Julia Cencebaugh Kloth is a seasoned garden historian, curator, and horticultural expert with a deep passion for preserving and sharing the beauty of historic gardens. With a background in landscape design and extensive experience as plant science expert for the University of Connecticut, Julia brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to her work. She has curated and managed archival collections for some of America’s most exceptional gardens, documenting their histories and helping them recapture their original design excellence after decades of neglect or natural disasters. Her work ensures that gardens of historical and cultural significance, many listed on the National Register of Historic Places or designated as National Historic Landmarks, are preserved for future generations.

The classic Connecticut fieldstone carriage house lends historical charm to her playful, fragrant, and exuberantly layered landscape.
